Towel rails and rings

The towel ring is designed for holding the smaller hand towels and is usually presented in a wall mounting format. Again the shape and style of the actual wall fitting will match the other elements in a particular collection. This towel ring, from the Carlon range, is the open type, where a towel can easily slide on from the side. A good quality fitting will have a nice unblemished finish, these days chrome is the most common, and the joint between the ring and the wall fixing will not be sloppy. |
Also from the Carlton
range, this is the more traditional looking towel ring. The function
is exactly the same as that above, but the towel has to be threaded
through the ring rather than slid on. It is simply a mater of personal
prefference to decide between them. |

Towel
rails are the option for larger bath towels. There are different widths
to choose from, making it simple to find a towel rail which will fit
ideally in your bathroom, and also many manufacturers make a single
and a double towel rail as illustrated below. |

The swivel towel
rail is another option, usually featuring two swivel arms which are
fixed to the wall at one end and can swing outwards, or sit neatly alongside
the wall. These can often make a really nice feature, and are well suited
for use alongside a basin or a vanity unit. |
Then there are the free standing options. Both rails and rings are available in free standing formats, often as part of a combination unit. The illustration here shows a free standing towel rail with three swivel rails and a heavy duty glass base. It is important with these items to nsure the base is heavy and can provide stability. |

This is tall ladder
style towel rail, where the top is wall mounted and the bottom stands
on the bathroom floor. If desired this can usually be fitted over a
radiator. |
